A bypass diode in a solar panel is used to prevent hot spots. The primary functions of a bypass diode are to conduct forward and block reverse current. The ZW-BD test system is designed to evaluate the thermal behavior and thermal runaway properties of diodes.

- The power supply's current output pulse duration is controlled to be less than 1 ms.
- The power supply is operated to provide constant current output.
- During the pulse current phase, parameters such as pulse current, diode voltage drop, and junction box temperature are collected.
- The relationship between VD (diode voltage) and TJ (junction temperature) is automatically simulated using the least-squares method.
- The TJ value at 75°C is calculated by obtaining the VD data and the ID=Isc value at 75°C.
- All data can be exported in EXCEL format, simplifying data processing and analysis.
- The forward volt-ampere characteristics of diodes can be tested.
- A fast circuit converter allows for rapid switching between forward and reverse voltage circuits within 10 ms.
